French Teachers of English: Are They Trained to Teach English Pronunciation and Oral Comprehension Properly?

Many researchers agree to say that English teachers generally lack adequate skills teach pronunciation properly (Macdonald, 2002; Chen & Goh, 2010), and "there is a definite need for more courses ESL teachers" (Derwing, 2010, p.27). We propose present survey was conducted with 60 French primary school 71 secondary of English. The study in several private public schools high schools. Through questionnaire, it focused on teachers’ self-efficacy (i.e their "individual beliefs about own abilities perform [the teaching pronunciation] (…) achieve specific results" (Chen p.333), how the working these were trained (or not) pronunciation, they are used oral comprehension classes. An analysis responses will make possible answer following questions: what profile France? What needs objectives? Are capable efficiently can we objectively expect from them?
